Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship is working with our global partner organizations in Cazuca on the outskirts of Bogota, COLOMBIA and in the western province of Choco, COLOMBIA.  We support their wholistic church planting ministry called Heme Aqui ("Here Am I").  In the past five years Heme Aqui has planted more than ten new churches.

EDUCATION BRINGS HOPE - Cazuca, a slum village of about 300,000 people, is located on the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia.  The vast majority of the people arrive with almost nothing, having been displaced from their homes and land by conflict.  Most of the settlements in Cazuca are illegial and lack even the most basic services.  In terms of education levels, the area has one of the highest illiteracy rates in the country: 26.4%.  Most people have only occasional employment.  But the good news is that God is at work through his people.  Watch the videos below for stories of how education is bringing hope to the children and families in Cazuca.

AGRICULTURE BRINGS HOPE - In Colombia's Choco region, MCC and the Mennonite Brethren Church are helping farmers find legal, sustainable and peaceful alternatives to growing coca (the plant used to produce cocaine).  See "Weaving Hope" story from Pastor David Esau's visit in 2013 and the latest "Finding Alternatives to Coca" story.
