This past fall, my wife and I finally had the chance to go and see one of the most famous natural wonders of the world—the Grand Canyon. When we arrived we followed the signs to the view point. I had caught glimpses of the Canyon along the way but when I finally stood staring down over the edge of it I understood why they called it the Grand Canyon. The sheer scale and scope and magnitude of it was indeed grand! In the days that followed we explored it on foot, read brochures and listened to park rangers. It was grand enough to still awe first time visitors and life-long researchers.
The more time I spend in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, the more certain I am that it is indeed grand, for in it we see and hear described the sheer size and scope and magnitude of God’s grand design for us and for our world. So over the next three months I want to invite you to join us as we explore the wonders of God’s saving work in Christ.
