Christmas Update: B.C. Mobilization Team Ministry Highlights

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas season, the B.C. Mobilization Team gives thanks for God’s work across Asia and North America and invites prayer for the months ahead.

In November, Greg helped lead a Multiply Asia training gathering in Thailand with MB national leaders from Laos, the Philippines, and Bangladesh, along with BCMB pastors and mission partners, Danny and Cynthia Asirit.

Please also pray for Multiply workers currently in B.C., including Robert and Marlene Baerg (serving in Mongolia) and Sean and Amy Hildebrand (serving in Uganda). Looking ahead to January, Danny and Cynthia Asirit are expected to be deployed to serve long-term in Palawan, Philippines, and Greg will accompany five B.C. students to the Impact Award mid-year retreat in Winnipeg from January 2-4.

In mid-January, Sam will lead a vision team of business leaders to SE Asia. The purpose of this trip is to honor and support *Bright Lantern Coffee, a social enterprise in Myanmar, and to explore similar redemptive business models that support church planting in Laos.

* [For over two decades Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters have been mentoring and training Myanmar and Thai disciple makers and pastors. Seeing a need to equip these emerging leaders to be self-sustaining in ministry, and so Bright Lantern Coffee Co. was launched—led by Lai Yar, a gifted young national leader with a vision to see her country set free from oppression and follow Jesus, the King. Currently there are new relational doors opening in Laos for business and mission. We will bring together leaders from both Laos and Myanmar to dream and pray together.

Following the training mentioned above, Greg will also return to Thailand and Laos to help discern next steps for ministry development in the region. Please continue to pray for wisdom, partnership, and fruit as God’s work continues across cultures and borders.
