The Shipping Container Challenge: Sending Relief Buckets to Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi

We are celebrating that 15 BCMB and MCBC churches put together 1,905 relief buckets for the Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi. That's $123,825 worth! We had aimed to fill ONE shipping container with relief buckets but we surpassed that goal and filled TWO shipping containers plus we had an extra half container to send to Ukraine!

At the end of December, the Relief Buckets we collected were shrink wrapped in our MCC BC Warehouse and loaded on to a truck for the journey to the MCC Canada warehouse in Ontario. We expect that they will soon be pulling out of the New Hamburg, Ontario warehouse on another truck and heading to the port of Montreal to begin the journey by freighter over the Atlantic ocean to Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

While Phase 1 of the Shipping Container Challenge concluded on Dec. 31, we are still looking for churches interested in helping us complete the filling of that second shipping container that we hope to send later in the Spring. Please contact Dana (danawieler@mccbc.ca) or me if you would like to participate.

*Here at ERBF, to God's glory, we surpassed our goal of filling one pallet (126 buckets) and were able to fill over 150 buckets! Praise be to God!
