Alternatives

With the March 13 suspension of the Cold Weather Mat Program (Info here), we have been able to work out a few alternate ways of providing ongoing support for the homeless.  Debbie Fell is coordinating a team of volunteers to make lunches that will be made available to the homeless at Lion's Park at 4 pm each day for the next few weeks.  Email Debbie Fell if you would like to help make or distribute the lunches.

2020 Cold Wet Weather Mat Program  The CWWMP is an overnight mat program where homeless people in the Tri-Cities can come inside for the night and be given a hot meal, a warm place to sleep, a change of clothes, a bag lunch, and can be assisted in fiding resources that can help them get off the streets. The CWWMP, operated by the Hope for Freedom Society (HFFS) and hosted by local churches, has been providing a temporary seasonal emergency shelter in the Tri-Cities since 2007.  The program operates from October through March and rotates between various churches in the Tri-Cities.  This year Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship will be hosting the CWWMP for the month of March.

Success Stories: The Tri-Cities shelter & mat program has resulted in over 300 homeless people leaving the street since 2007.  See also Debbie Fell's report on "The Bridge Shelter" (pdf below).
