Come Explore

Of the places I’ve visited, Yellowstone National Park captivated me with its incredible diversity—the barren moon-like landscapes of bubbling mud pits and steaming geysers, lush green meadows, massive waterfalls, canyons carved deep through solid rock. It was hard to believe such incredible diversity could all be found in one place. I’ve since come to think of the book of Psalms as the Yellowstone National Park of the Bible, given the incredible variety of its spiritual landscape. Here we’re invited to discover a life of prayer not as a mere duty but something gloriously rich and diverse to delight in with our amazing God.

Praying the Psalms

We expect to find in the Bible God’swords to humanity. But in the Psalms, a book treasured through the millennia, we find words people addressed to God. When the Psalmis invites us to "taste and see that the Lord is good" we are being encouraged to know God personally and experientially. God has provided a guide, an ancient path, that helps lead us into his presence--the path of praying the psalms. When we don't have the words to express ourselves in the ups and downs of life, the psalms provide the words and way to do so.

So we invite you to come explore and pray the psalms with us this summer!
