On August 15th, our Board of Elders shared news of a new Ministry Internship initiative (see the linked Internship Proposal below for details). Although basic leadership opportunities happen whenever people are given opportunities to serve and test out their interest and abilities, we believe it is important for the church to have additional training where we can encourage and equip young ministry leaders for the future. Our summer internships in Children's Ministry have been an important avenue for training, and the Ministry Internship is another step in this direction.

We are excited to announce that David Lee is the pastoral intern at ERBF for the upcoming year.  He will be working ten hours a week for eight months starting September 21, 2021.  David's internship will encompass the following:

  • Under the guidance of internship and department supervisers, David will be immersed in three to four main pastoral tracks of learning and experience, including discipleship, teaching and preaching, worship, and pastoral care.
  • He will consistently meet with both his supervisors for prayer and accountability, support and encouragement.
  • While the emphasis of the internship will be practical, an educational component is strongly encouraged. The MB Seminary has begun to offer a Ministry Foundations Certificate (MFC) which David will be encouraged to take. The MFC consists of four weekend courses: Leadership, Discipleship, Biblical Interpretation, and Pastoral Care.

We are excited that this next step in leadership growth is in place at ERBF.
